HAWK HEROES OF THE HALLWAYS

Calling MOMS, DADS, GRANDMAS, GRANDPAS, AUNTS, UNCLES and other family friends!!

Hazel Grove is proud to announce a new volunteer program, HAWK Heroes of the Hallways, to be implemented in the 2019-2020 school year. The HAWK Heroes is similar to the Watch Dog Dad program. However, this program includes both our wonderful male and female role models.

HAWK Heroes has many opportunities for adults who want to support the classroom or serve as positive role models. HAWK Heroes connects adult volunteers to activities such as classroom helper, lunch buddy, recess buddy, reading or math tutor, mentor, and special projects.

Typically, our heroes will meet with students one-on-one or help in a classroom once a year, however, multiple sign ups are welcome! To participate, all adults must go through brief online volunteer training.  Then coordinate the date(s) for volunteering with the front office. All Heroes receive a special shirt to wear at school!

LITERACY AND FAMILY FUN NIGHTS

HGE is excited to offer family literacy and fun nights this year.  YOU are your child's first and most important teacher.  Come learn strategies to help your child become his/her best reader and share the joy of reading together.  Plus, enjoy playing games to develop your child's academic, social, and emotional self.  Invest a little time and gain so much more in return as you learn (and play)  alongside your child.

CULTURAL aSSEMBLIES

PTA funds a variety of educational assemblies throughout the year.  These assemblies educate students about people and places around the world in order to develop cultural awareness and an appreciation for diversity.
